"Oh Mama"

I am very indecisive.
I never know what to buy.
So I procrastinate going to the mall
And the time before Christmas flies by.

Every year I buy for different people,
But some remain the same.
Some people are easy to buy for,
But my mother's gift is like a hard game.

Problem number one is she is still a little kid.
So her gifts must always be perfect.
Problem number two is I am always out done
By my sister, who always gets a better object.

Problem number three is her birthday,
Which happens to be on Christmas Eve.
So now I have to pay for two days
And two gifts to pull out from up my sleeve.

This year she wanted dangly earrings,

But I could not find any that I thought were nice.
So I looked into every single store
For something that would suffice.

I walked into the Disney store just for fun
And there it was sitting on the wall.
It was as if it glowed and called my name
Coming from the Cinderella doll.

It is her favorite Disney princess.
How could I possibly forget that.
I'll buy Prince Charming for her birthday,
But Cinderella is where it's at.

Finally the perfect gift for mom
And this year really wasn't that hard.
All the problems were solved!
Wait...Oh no! I still need a card!

"Let's Kill Cresskill!"

It has been a great season, and a great end to the year,
We won our leagues and that made all of us cheer.
Next up is states and we’ve never won first round,
But this year is very different, as we all quickly found.

Placing first seed in the bracket, we got a first round bye.
Teams were out to beat us but we kept our heads high.
We would play the winner of Cresskill and Morris Tech,
Cresskill came out came out strong with a 5 to 0 wreck.

We had played Cresskill once and lost by a goal,
But we all went to work in order to leave no hole.
Focus and determination were two key factors,
As well as teamwork, this is what always matters.

I was so incredibly scared of losing our first state game,
That I took every preparation to get us our fame.
It had been since 2005 that New Milford has beat
The Cougars in any game, no one could ever defeat.

I didn’t sleep well; I stayed awake grinding my teeth.
I shook the whole day, and had to remember to breath.
We would get out early to change and warm-up,
As the time got closer, I felt my stomach about to erupt.

Two o’clock comes and the whistle to play blows,
“Here we go girls, let’s put on our best show.”
We struggled at first like we unfortunately always do,
But something about today was different I knew it to be true.

Middle of the first half we get two goals in a row,
We were so relieved now but there was time for the foe.
"Three goals to lock in the win", our coach said at half,
And we got that off a corner kick right after that.

We celebrated and cheered but the game wasn’t done.
Here comes their best player; she was like a loose pet.
I dove as she shot but didn’t get there quick enough,
But I knew we were fine because we were all very tough.

The end whistle blows, and we all scream and shout.
Bye, bye Cresskill, they are officially out!
We made it to the semi-finals, and made history too.
I couldn’t be prouder of all my soccer boos.

It was a tiresome preparation and a very tough game.
But in my head it will always and forever remain.

"Homecoming and Going"

Jump into my car and head down to the field,
Ran through a stop sign, didn't even yield.
Tonight's the night homecoming king and queen will be revealed.

The winner's announced, the football game won,
Then it was time to have a little fun.
Went to Brain Freeze to get something to feed on.

Found my boyfriend in all of the crowd.
We went down my street to a small playground.
Then my dad called and said, "This late isn't allowed."

Woke up seven-thirty in the morning,
Went straight to practice, giving daddy no warning.
Two-hours later, got to take a short showering.

Breakfast on the go because mommy was here,
We went to get our nails done somewhere near.
A light shade of gray, as it appears.

Put on one dress and grabbed the other.
Headed up to Sparta, orders from my mother,
We were to celebrate the birthday of my Grandfather.

To be there at four, and dinner at six,
I just kept thinking I'm in a huge fix.
Thankfully, I had my bag full of tricks.

Left slightly early to head to the school.
My car and I were running out of fuel.
I'll make the dance, it'll all be cool.

Make it there with an hour to spare,
But as I change my dress tears.
Drive quickly back home, now what do I wear?

Freaking out, my dad was trying to be very kind.
Put on the next best dress that I can find.
Make it back quick so I can unwind.

Danced with my boyfriend and friends, too.
Night didn't turn out to be so blue.
Just wish I had more hours before the day was through.

Busy day, just like the rest.
Did not realize it too would not be my best.
Just very happy I got through this test.

"First Day of My Epic Senior Year"

"Rise and shine, it's time to awake,"
My dad says as he gives me a shake.
"Your finally a senior! It is finally here!
You are going to have the most epic year!"

I slowly awake as he walks out of the room.
I really start to hope this year is a boom.
Looking around my room to find my first day outfit,
Having completely disappeared, I just hope I can find it.

A cute red dress, with a cute knit vest,
And tan little shoes, that are now my best.
Did I hang it back up? Did I imagine it all?
Or am I going crazy?, as I stare at a wall.

Search in the closet, search on the floor.
Nowhere to be find, but there is one other door.
As I open the hamper, I feel full of fear.
The dress is right there, I shed a small tear.

Mixed in with all my soccer clothes and many dirty socks,
I felt a panic attack coming and it was one I could not block.
I look at the clock it says it is seven thirty-nine.
I'll choose a different outfit, everything will be fine.

Who will care if I were sweats on the first day?
It's been a long summer, they all know me anyway.
Dressed, cleaned, and ready for my first day of school,
This will be one epic ride, but this year will rule!
