"Second Times a Charm"

I hated having braces, they were always in the way
Of speaking and of eating, but this is the price you have to pay

After getting them off after the New Year in sixth grade
You could not imagine that amount of happiness I displayed

I thought my teeth were good now, they are straight forever
So I never wore my retainer, I thought I was so clever

I wore it every so often, when my dad yelled at me
But other than those few times, I smiled with glee

My teeth started to shift back and cross over each other
Of course the first to notice were my father and mother

I tried one day to put my bottom retainer in
Snap! It broke, there goes my big grin

Straight to the orthodontist to get braces back on
Six more months of this, and then I'm done

Six months later they're off again
I guess this is the price you pay, beauty is pain

"Hell Week"

Hell week usually comes once a year
It is the week in August that tryouts begin
For any sport that is played in the fall
Three hours a day is the start so you win

But because I care about my studies too
My school year would have to consist of hard classes
Three APs, Chemistry, Calculus, and Statistics
Plus Honors English, and all of them have to be passes

Due to the APs though, comes the AP tests
It costs money, time, and all your attention
And for me it all led up to one single week
Where along with all my issues, caused a lot of tension

I meditated, studied, and slept as much as possible
I knew I had to stay strong whichever way I could
My AP Statsitics exam would end the week from hell
And 3:45, it was over, and I had never felt so good!
