"Brooooklyn"

I have to admit there are very few things that I love,
But every year I make sure I enjoy every thing I do.
No matter how many other things I have to shove.
I make sure that every year I see a love that's true.

Not only is the entire team something I adore,
But their center, number 11, is the perfect being.
His name is Brook Lopez and he is perfect to the core.
His team is the Brooklyn Nets and they are always worth seeing.

 

So of course this year I got tickets to see them play.
But mama wouldn't allow me to go to their new place.
"Brooklyn is a dangerous place, even during the day."
She needs to calm down and not make her heart race.

Instead I got Nets' tickets but at Madison Square Garden.
A great game to see becuase of the new New York rivalry.
This game against the Knicks, either team winning was uncertain.
I did have one more problem, who did I want to take finally.

Originally I had the perfect person to take.
He liked the Knicks and it would be a fun battle,
But things between us unfortunetly didn't turn out great.
Now I feel like my head is a baby's rattle.

A dear friend of mine said he would love to go,
But he's off to Puerto Rico that same day.
One more option an old friend would love this show.
Being a Brooklyn fan himself, he couldn't stay away.

But the night before, at 10 P.M., I receive a text,
"I can't go, I'm so sorry, something came up."
Less than 24 hours away! Now what's next?
Now my mood is in a huge slump.

No ones available, not even the family.
My mom said she would cancel her plans if needed.
It's my only option, what else can I do? The agony!
So I invited her, she'll enjoy the game I repeated.

Off we go, here I come my love Brook.
14 points and 11 rebounds, to add to their amazing win!
I had the most amazing time, didn't matter who I took.
But mama was a good choice, my second win.
